An exploration into articulating identity.
Whether you’re a founder trying to find a brand’s voice or a mother trying to remember your own, the challenge is the same: how do you carve out a place for the self in a world that is constantly moving? What does it mean to be true to yourself when your priorities have shifted?
Hey, I’m Kavya
I’m a marketer. I’m a mother. And I’m in my late 30s going through a big internal transition.
But this isn’t a marketing Substack. Or a parenting one. Or a lifestyle one.
It’s about something that runs through all of these things. A tension we all experience, trying to balance two things:
Pace: The rhythm of our daily hustle and ambition
Place: The stillness of our sense of self
One cannot exist without the other. But trying to establish both while navigating the myriad of challenges each brings is…a lot. And it’s what I’m attempting to untangle here.
Themes I’m exploring
Identity in Transition: From navigating matrescence, to reconnecting with my Indian heritage as a third culture kid raising a kid of my own.
Brand Building and Strategic Growth: Using brand logic to help founders build businesses (and lives) that are values-aligned and rooted in their truth
Playing in the Margins: Finding white space on the edges of a busy life to explore the hobbies, play and physical spaces that allow me to step outside the roles of “Marketer” or “Mum.”
Placemakers: Conversations with those who have built resonant lives and businesses by stopping to find their own rhythm.
If you’re trying to untangle your own sense of self while building something meaningful in the world, I hope my process of untangling it all helps you find some clarity, too.
Thank you for being here.
